WARPED TOUR
15.8.10
- 6 hour drive from Vancouver to the city of George, Washington (lol)
- discovered that the Gorge Amphitheater is in the middle of NO WHERE
- direct sunlight, humidity of a sauna
- Honey Buckets that weren't so sweet
- ran straight into Tanner Howes of Disco Curtis after entrance (!!!)
- watched/completely immersed self into his Kingdom Hearts hair and green eyes on stage...
- failed at Willy Wonkifying ourselves at the photo booth
- awkwardly met Tanner Howes as "the only Asian girls there" and "Sister Irene"
- realized that our Asian-ness made us look like exotic creatures that only exist on YouTube with WongFu and Cathy Nguyen...
- and it was awesome
- did not realize it was the norm in George (NOT SEATTLE) to prance around in bikinis and open denim daisy dukes
- watched The Rocket Summer (eh) and The Pretty Reckless (boring, although it was cool to be in the presence of Taylor Momsen)
- hunted for water refills and must have filled our bottle at least 10 times
- sweat and appeared extremely disoriented
- watched the lead of Mayday Parade walk by whilst Irene was too shell-shocked to speak to him and missed her chance
- got pissed at Sum 41 for bailing (attacked by 'Japanese crazy men')
- achieved 2/5 meet-and-greets while waiting for The Cab (Hey Monday, Jess from TSS)
- felt the intense need to jump Alex Marshall's bones every time he looked my way during the show, which was amazing!!!
- took a huge risk by ditching The Cab's signing to watch Anarbor...
- worth it, because we sprinted back and were the LAST "sweethearts" to meet them!
- btw, Anarbor was amazing too (vocals = wow)
- were constantly sprayed at by super soakers and drunk cat-called throughout
- slowly and steadily went to NeverShoutNever's extremely interactive and cute performance
- ran to the disappointment of Mayday Parade (claustrophobia sucks) and then to the last 2 songs of You Me @ 6 (you sound like yoh from bri-ain!)
- failed at catching drumstick, but the nice boy who caught it gave it to me and I got so excited I almost poked Irenes eye out with it...
- rediscovered our hate, but also our longing for crowd surfers...chick's nose ring got kicked, ouch
- danced to the last verse of "Jersey" on our way to Mike Posner (!!!!!!)
- bought a hot pink Glamour Kills tee and haggled for a free GK promo pack, retail $2 ;) Also bought a THE SUMMER SET SLEPT WITH ALL MY FRIENDS tee and got a free poster!
- relaxed and had a real Gorge Amphitheater experience as we listening to the crooning of Mr. Posner and his amazing beats
- recorded the sunset (sort of) to the background music of Cooler Than Me
- Irene's ears perked up to "Chelsea" and we ran down for THE SUMMER SET, our last and craziest Warped 2010 concert ever...(minus Irene's dying stomach and hair-eating)
- YOU BELONG WITH MEEE-EE EEE (who covers that?)...no passenger seat, damn it Old Navy :(
- developed a huge girl crush on Jess's drumming technique...unnnng
- hiked up the Gorge for the last time (calf and lower body work out of the summer!)
- attempted to fill in the gap we felt for not connecting with many-a-band-member (compared to last year) by half searching for Joey Thunder, the The Cab stand in...
- and ended up running into Father Gary and TanTan ^__^ who ditched us for the showers but still filled that gap
- left content, tired, and happy that we brought the price of water from $5 to $1 + 2 hugs :D suckers!
