i love nice people!
11.4.10
It never fails to amaze me that there are still genuinely nice people who do random acts of kindness just for the joy of it. Hannah and I were waiting for the bus and I was just finishing up a cry-fest. When the bus pulled up and Hannah got her ticket, the bus driver, who was a 50-something man with friendly eyes, said, "Why are you crying right when I pull my bus up?" I laughed and told him I would be alright. As I continued to talk to Hannah about the issue, I heard a tune. It was the man on the bus's P.A. system, singing to me! "Everything will be all right, don't be sad!" he said, giving me the warmest smile I've ever seen in the rearview mirror. "It's such a sunny day, don't be down. Think of what I have to go through!" he joked. I smiled, laughed, proceeded to tell him I would be just fine. As we were exiting, I thanked him for his kindness. He gave my hand a squeeze. "Everything will be all right. Take care." he reminded me. I exited the bus with so much hope. Not negative hope, but positive. One that takes you into a world where all that you believe is peaceful exists. That bus driver Gives Me Hope.
