let it snow

it's funny how a single type of precipitation can make 3/4 of the city burst with joy almost instantly. the second we see those thick flakes of snow - the ones that tell us it's not going to stop any time soon - we run our asses to our computer to change our status/personal message etc. to something related to snow. pros: snow day, easy on the eyes. just wait until you have to walk, or basically dig your way through it to the bus stop to freeze your ass off and wait for the extremely slow buses, or the very worst...drive.despite me being so sour about having to watch for black ice when i walk to school, the way the snow just envelopes the world and doesn't melt in the process, captivates me. i love precipitation that doesn't look wet. i love eating snow...just not when you find out the hard way that there's something in it. i just watched it fall last night - late, late at night - because that's when there are no people on the streets, stepping on it and throwing dangerous snowballs. i hate snowballs. on my 14th birthday right when i was heading home, cardi chucked one at me accidentally-on-purpose and it winded me, smack dab in the middle of my chest. i couldn't stop shivering or crying for about half an hour, it was so cold.
snowmen, snow angels, forts, snow castles? i don't have the patience to even make a proper snowman, let alone a masterpiece, but people who do really amaze me. any type of ice sculpture, or sculptures in general. all those proportions and techniques made in complete 3D, perfect from every single angle. i love playing with snow, i guess i'm just too cheap to buy proper gloves because it's the hugest pain in the ass when it starts sticking to my $1 gloves...
woke up this morning, and the way the light shined through my blinds was just different because of these tiny pieces of ice. the aura was different, better - not that gross feeling you get when you know it's 7 in the morning because it's so damn dark out. people rely on many things for their happiness, and i guess just like it's polar opposite, sun, snow is one of those events that can truly turn one's day around in ways unknown to them.
